Madeley Parish Council has tried to make this website accessible to all users. We have followed certain standards and guidelines to ensure the site can be used effectively and easily by everyone. It is table free and designed using World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) compliant XHTML 1.0 Strict & CSS Level 2.1 markup. Non-text elements such as images amd multi-media files have a text equivilent via an alternative text attribute (alt tag), and all links have a title attribute. A 'skip to content' link is available and 'access keys' further aid navigation. H1 tags are used for all page titles and H2 tags for sub-titles.
Whilst we avoid unnecessary use of such, our site navigation is generated by JavaScript. If a visitor to the site does not have JavaScript enabled in their browser, or their browser does not support DHTML, they will automatically be redirected to our sitemap when logging on.
Our website has good cross-browser support.
If you wish to check the validity of the XHTML 1.0 Strict markup on any page, click the Open Xhtml Validator link and enter the particular page url - example: http://www.madeleyparishcouncil.gov.uk/standards.htm (this page).
