The South Telford Rights of Way Partnership has established this exciting and informative long distance footpath for the benefit of local people and visitors alike.
The 18km loop route passes through the five partner parishes of STROWP: Hollinswood and Randlay, Stirchley and Brookside, Madeley, Dawley Hamlets and The Gorge and includes countryside and woodland areas managed by Severn Gorge Countryside Trust.
Wherever possible the route uses the existing Rights of Way network and avoids more heavily used footpaths. The South Telford Way presents the user with opportunities to explore new and previously, secret, aspects of South Telford in either long or short stretches.
Discover the blend of historical and natural features that, coupled with modern development, combine to create the fascinating mosaic that is Telford today.
Distance is approximately 12 miles or 18 kilometers and is specially waymarked.
A leaflet illustrating The South Telford Way is available from Spout Farm House, Telford Town Park, and the Tourist Information office in Ironbridge, or direct from the STROWP partners.
A number of shorter walks are available within each of the partners Parishes. STROWP has produced detailed leaflets illustrating these networks of, Routes Around, each Parish.
